| Sweet potato apple casserole |
| An exotic marriage of apple and potato |
What you need....
- 3 sweet potatoes, medium sized
- 4 apples, medium sized, pared and cored
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 tbs. butter
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
- 1/4 cup water

How to prepare...
- cook the sweet potatoes in boiling water until tender
- cool and peel them
- cut the sweet potatoes and apples into slices
- place in alternate layers in a greased baking dish
- sprinkle each layer with sugar and salt
- dot top with butter, dust with allspice
- add water and cover
- bake covered in the oven for about 30 minutes
- then uncover the dish and bake for an additional 15 minutes
- serve hot
